After graduating with a degree in electronics from ITT in Portland, Oregon, Scott answered an ad for a hearing aid repair technician at Starkey Laboratories. Years of extensive training followed, until he attained expert status in building, fitting, and adjusting the latest in hearing aid technology. Scott became the national trainer for Starkey Laboratories, and taught advanced techniques in custom fitting to newly graduated audiologist from all over the United States for about 9 years.
Scott went on to work for Sonus USA, as the Area Manager for 26 clinics in Oregon, Washington, California, and Canada. He was the one that they brought in for the patients that had very difficult hearing losses.
Scott ventured out on his own in 2004, and has purchased multiple hearing aid clinics in Pagosa Springs, Alamosa, Pueblo, and Canon City. Scott makes himself available with all the employees and patients by frequenting each location each month and in some cases he is the main provider of that clinic.
Scott has a unique approach in his expertise since he has the technical background and really listens to the patient on what needs to be addressed and finds the solution with a caring touch.
With 26 years of experience in the industry Scott is dedicated to helping all his patients hear better with the best technology available. He feels that he has the responsibility of each patient’s hearing in his hands and takes that responsibility very seriously. He wants each patient to know that he will not give up on them; since they would be giving up a large part of their world if they didn’t hear everything they could with the latest technology available.
Even though Scott is willing to fit any product the patient requests, his best success in fitting hearing aids has been with Starkey Laboratories. Not only does he believe they have the best technology in the industry, but he believes if for any reason a client is not satisfied Starkey will go above and beyond to make sure the client gets the help they need. Scott is also amazed at how far the technology has come and is always trained on the latest technology which gives the patient the best technology possible.
